Rev. Conner has served as the Executive Director since the inception of the organization. She has more than 25 years of experience in corporate America, including employment at The Coca-Cola Company and Columbian Chemicals. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University and a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center. She is currently working to complete a Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University. Rev. Conner is committed to helping individuals and families in the community to live healthy, productive lives.
Before starting at Zion Hill CDC in 2006, Dawn worked for the State of Rhode Island in the Tobacco Control Department, where she ran smoking cessation programs, instructed women in job readiness as a Welfare to Work Specialist, and worked for the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island where she supervised 14 communities (over 800 volunteers and 6000 girls.) She attended California State University Northridge where she earned a BA in History. Dawn is currently working towards her Master's in Public Administration.
Brenda has ten years of experience in the fields of social service and employment development. Before joining Zion Hill CDC, she worked for a variety of agencies, including the Workforce Development Agency (One Stop Center), The State Department of Rehabilitation, the Social Security Administration, and the State Youth Probation Department. Her areas of expertise include assisting clients in identifying their strengths and addressing their weaknesses in preparation for employment and life stability.
Bennie brings several years of experience in career coaching and workforce development to the Zion Hill CDC. Prior to his arrival at the CDC, he served other non-profits in the Metro, including The CFR and MUST, Inc., both located in Cobb County, where he coordinated and managed job readiness programs. He also served as Employment Resources Facilitator for the Arkansas Workforce Development Agency prior to relocating to Georgia. His areas of expertise include workforce development, resolving barriers to employment, career coaching, resumes and applications, and effective interviewing. Bennie is an Honor Graduate of Southern Technical College with a degree in Computer Science. He often encourages the clients he serves by reminding them that "It's never too late to be what you could have been!"
